Milos Island in the Cyclades

It’s the most southern of the Cycladic islands. This means it’s close to Crete and so an important destination to consider when you’re planning an island-hopping Greek vacation.

Milos is a very beautiful island that is volcanic with more than 70 magical beaches and hidden coves. It’s full of volcanic and strange landscapes, colorful villages, and interesting museums and archaeological sites. Niko’s Moto ATV hire agency, Milos

I ultimately chose to rent an ATV in Adamas as it was closest to some of the destinations I wanted to explore. It was also the most affordable place to find an ATV rental because it’s a little off the typical tourist circuit.

You’ll notice below that it’s around the port and at the airport that you’ll find most of these rental companies.

It’s possible to book online in time for the high season. Prices don’t vary very much between ATV rental companies. The most important thing when choosing ATV rentals is to choose a trustworthy company for your own safety and to have a stress-free vacation.

General tips for renting a quad in Milos

Renting an ATV is a fun choice for exploring most of the islands in Greece but in order to maximize your experience, you must follow some rules.

  • Most people don’t find driving an ATV difficult but you do risk injury or accidents happening if you don’t understand the fundamentals of using this type of vehicle.
  • It’s important to hire an ATV from a trustworthy company because that means that the vehicle will be in good condition and should have regular servicing. Check reviews on Tripadvisor before booking. For example, you’ll see good and bad reviews about Niko’s Moto. Some reviews say that they had excellent service, and others said the Niko’s Moto agency staff weren’t at all helpful!
  • Check that your travel insurance covers you driving an ATV in the event of an accident.
  • Fill up your gas tank before you start your journey or before you return it, depending on how the rental agreement is set up.

The Cost of an ATV Rental in Milos

If you’d like to rent an ATV just for a day, it’s possible to pay good prices as low as €40 per day, but this is for low cc models, such as 150cc or 200cc ATV’s.

Quad rental, Milos Island, Greece

The whole point of choosing an ATV rental though is to get off the main roads, and this means hilly and windy roads where a 425cc or even a 450cc model would give you more power to get up hills easily.

Of course, you need to feel confident to handle a moto with this much power. The cost of these more powerful ATVs is usually €65 to €75 per day to rent.

Tips for Finding Good Prices for ATV’s

  • Take a glance at Tripadvisor reviews because quad prices vary even at the same rental company at different times.
  • Try to negotiate on the price, especially if it’s not peak season or if you’re planning on having a buggy for more than a few days.
  • It is much cheaper to rent a moto or an ATV online, so if you’re planning to visit Milos for the summer holidays, make a booking in advance online. It’s difficult to get a quad at the last minute in July and August because of all the people who rented one online!
  • There are low-power and higher-power ATVs available: While you won’t need the most powerful, you will need one that can get you up some serious hills!
  • Ask for long-hire discounts because the ATV rental company will likely discount the daily rates if you want to rent by the week or month.

There is a law in Greece about helmets. You have to wear one, no matter if you’re riding a scooter, moped, or motorcycle. If you’re riding an ATV, you must wear the kind of helmet known as a full-face helmet.

It’s also ok though to wear a helmet that is a non-full-face helmet if you also wear goggles.

If you have an accident and weren’t wearing a helmet, you may invalidate your travel insurance. Not wearing a helmet can also lead to a €350 fine and confiscation of your license.

The minimum age for the driver must be 21 years old and must have a valid driver’s license at least for 1 year.

9. Is it easy to ride a Quad bike?

It is very simple to ride a quad bike. It is almost like riding a bike.

Final Thoughts

You can hire an ATV easily and even book online in advance so that you can discover beaches, coves, and traditional fishing villages all around stunning Milos island.

But serious accidents happen on the Cyclades islands every year. Some people rent a moto but don’t wear a helmet, or drive in situations (like rocky hills) that are beyond their skill set. So just as long as you keep safety in mind, you’ll have an unforgettable holiday experience!

I’m pretty sure you’re going to be addicted to ATV adventures once you’re had an ATV rental on Milos. Here are some other fun ways to get between and around other Greek Islands:
